THE CIRCUIT BLEU CHARLES-BRUNEAU TAKES PLACE ON SEPTEMBER 16 AND 17

The Charles-Bruneau Foundation is delighted and grateful to host the 10th edition of the Circuit bleu Charles-Bruneau on September 16 and 17. Presented by Pelican, the event will bring together over 165 people dedicated to raising funds for pediatric cancer research. By kayak or paddleboard, they will paddle between 8 and 50 kilometers on the St. Lawrence River and Rivière-des-Prairies. This festive year will be highlighted by the return of a camping evening and the presentation of special awards to people who have made a significant contribution to the event’s history. The closing ceremony will take place on Sunday afternoon at Parc national des Îles-de-Boucherville.

During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Charles-Bruneau Foundation is reminding us that public involvement and generosity are essential. Every dollar raised supports research and brings hope to children and families battling the disease. Since the first edition of the Circuit Bleu, thanks to the contributions of participants, donors and partners, over $1.9 million has been raised to help cure the 2000 children with cancer in Quebec every year.

Child heroes: a source of inspiration 

In this anniversary year, children with or in remission from cancer were chosen as the event’s Heroes and Heroines. Ghilas, Mia and Zoé will be on hand to cheer on the paddlers. The meeting between the children’s families and the participants provides an opportunity for exchanges filled with gratitude, as well as giving the participants all the energy they need to rise to a major physical challenge.

In addition to the young Heroes, Pierre Bruneau, Paul Doucet and Florence Breton will also be returning as spokespeople for the Foundation. Mylène Paquette, event godmother, adventurer and lecturer, will also be taking part in the challenge. Finally, Émilie Fournel, Canadian Olympian in canoe-kayak, and actor Anthony Therrien will both be on hand as ambassadors for the event.
