Many public figures at the Soirée gastronomique Charles-Bruneau presented by IGA
The Charles-Bruneau Foundation is delighted to welcome a number of public figures to the 9th edition of the Soirée gastronomique Charles-Bruneau. A huge thank you to these personalities for their involvement. Discover them:
Dave Morissette
A former professional field hockey player who retired in 2001, Dave is now a well-known figure on the Quebec media scene.
In 2005, he published Mémoires d’un dur à cuire. Written in collaboration with sports journalist Mathias Brunet, the book caused quite a stir, as Dave discusses the use of steroids and stimulants in professional field hockey. An NHL anti-doping policy was introduced shortly afterwards, and his book has since become a bestseller.
For several years, he was a regular sports analyst and contributor on all the major television and radio networks, from CKAC to RDS. In particular, he contributes to the RDS program l’Antichambre. He joins the team of hosts for TVA Sport’s Le Match, hosts Dave Morissette live and continues to appear on Salut, Bonjour!
2010 marks his entry into the world of cinema, with his participation in the cast of Lance et Compte, le film. Following his performance in the film, he was offered a role in the TV series broadcast on TVA. He also co-hosts Fort Boyard in 2013-2014 alongside Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge.
Over the course of his career, he has won the Artis trophy ten times in the “Best Sports Program Host” category.
Dave recently joined the 98.5 weekend team as a columnist. He writes for the magazines La Semaine and 7 jours, and will be featured in the next season of TVA’s Sortez-moi d’ici. He still hosts L’après match LNH on TVA Sports, and conducts a number of interviews.
Marie-Ève Dicaire
A 5Ist dan black belt and 5 x world karate champion, she made professional boxing history in 2018, becoming the first Quebecer to be crowned world champion. In addition to securing a second world title in 2021 and pushing back the limits of her sport, she is distinguished by her involvement in society.
Recipient of the National Assembly medal and the Maurice Richard prize, she fights to legitimize the place of women in combat sports.
Parallel to her professional career, she entered the world of Quebec media with weekly columns on 91.9 sports and Poche bleue. She became better known in the summer of 2022, when she co-hosted the return show on 96.9 CKOI.
Now retired from professional boxing, she continues her career in the world of communications as a speaker, columnist and host.
Marilyse Bourke
For over thirty years, Marilyse Bourke has carved out an important place for herself in the Quebec cultural landscape. She has played several leading roles in TV series such as Watatatow, Km/h, Les invincibles, Une grenade avec ça?, Mauvais karma, District 31, Les mutants, O’ and Nuit blanche. More recently, she has also appeared in the TV series Indéfendable, Après le déluge and Alertes. Her acting talents have also led her to appear in films such as Le sens de l’humour, Au revoir le bonheur and Jules au pays d’Asha. Her stage credits include La galère sur scène, La mort d’un commis voyageur, Les Schpountz and Les Voisins.
Marilyn Castonguay
Marilyn is an actress who has made a name for herself on stage, in film and on television, in a wide range of roles. A 2010 graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, her credits include Testament, The Joker, The Decline of the American Empire and Glen Garry Glen Ross. In 2021, she takes on the challenge of bringing Les filles et les garçons to the stage alone.
On television, Marilyn appears in several productions (Au secours de Béatrice,19-2, Vertige, Plan B, Fatale station, L’échappée, Le Pacte). She plays Huguette in the series C’est comme ça que je t’aime, which has been receiving public acclaim since 2020.
On the big screen, Marilyn has appeared in L’affaire Dumont, Louis Cyr, l’Ange-Gardien, Miraculum and Ça sent la coupe. In 2019, she plays Sarah in Matthias et Maxime and is part of the cast of Jusqu’au déclin. In 2023, she will star in the feature film Frontières.
Monic Néron
Monic Néron was discovered by the general public in 2013 on Puisqu’il faut se lever, hosted by Paul Arcand on 98.5 FM. After winning the hearts of the public by co-hosting the program Deuxième chance with Marina Orsini in 2021, Monic Néron takes part in the investigation Alpha_02 : Le mystère Alexandre Cazes, a TV documentary series in 2022. A second major investigation for the host, who was behind Quebec’s first investigative documentary series, Le dernier soir.
In the fall of 2022, she will continue co-hosting the social-interest magazine L’avenir nous appartient for a 3rd season, in addition to reuniting with her listeners on the weekly Le genre humain, broadcast on ICI Première since 2021. She is also a contributor to Dans les médias, alongside Marie-Louise Arsenault. She hosts her first podcast: Maman, arrête de mourir : survivre aux féminicides.
Monic Néron contributed to the reflection surrounding the treatment of victims of sexual crimes in the feature documentary La parfaite victime, released in June 2021.
Meeker Guerrier
Meeker Guerrier has made a name for himself as a journalist and host on 91.9 sports radio. He is also well known to Radio-Canada audiences, having hosted the program J’aime Montréal in the city’s parks, as well as being a regular contributor to the program Entrée principale hosted by André Robitaille.
He can be heard on Rouge FM, where he is a contributor to La gang du matin à Montréal. In 2020, Meeker joined the RDS team as sports and society columnist on 5 à 7, in addition to acting as NBA basketball analyst and columnist. Since last spring, he has also been anchor of Noovo’s weekend network programs.
After a year as sports columnist for Tout un matin, Ici Radio-Canada’s morning show premiering in the greater Montreal area, Meeker has been co-hosting the show since January. Since January 2024, Meeker has co-hosted L’Émission possible on Télé-Québec.
Simon Pigeon
Simon Pigeon has more than one string to his bow, so much so that over the years he has managed to carve out a niche for himself in Quebec’s cultural universe. It was in Les étoiles filantes, at the age of 14, that Simon began his television career. We’ve seen him in Entre deux draps I-IV, 5e Rang, Nuit Blanche Lou et Sophie, Caméra Café (nouvelle génération) and FLQ : La Traque. Simon was also part of the cast of La Dérape, Olivier, District 31, Lourd, Marche à l’ombre and Les beaux malaises. In 2022, he helmed the animation of Chef Oli vire champêtre.
He landed his first big-screen role at age 15, in Un été sans point ni coup sûr. Since then, we’ve seen him in Prank. He has also appeared in 1987, Il était une fois les boys, Corbo, Le Déserteur, L’amour and Flashwood. Simon also made his theatrical debut in Romeo and Juliet at the TNM.
Nicola Ciccone
Nicola Ciccone is an accomplished singer-songwriter of Italian origin from Quebec. He discovered his passion for songwriting at an early age. Nicola launched his first album, L’Opéra du mendiant, in 1999. His most recent album, Gratitude, was released in 2021. Nicola Ciccone also published three books between 2013 and 2017. On March 28, 2024, Nicola Ciccone will launch J’t’ai trouvée, j’te garde, his 15th album of original songs to mark 25 years in the music business. It will be followed by a major tour of shows across the country.
Luc Dionne
Luc Dionne began writing drama in 1996 with his first script, for the drama series Omertà, la loi du silence. This was followed by Omertà II, la loi du silence, and a third and final installment, Omertà III, le dernier des hommes d’honneur, broadcast on Radio-Canada in 1999. Luc Dionne then collaborated on the screenplay for the Tag series, which describes the world of young delinquents.
Since then, he has adapted Monica La Mitraille for film, which won the award for best adaptation, and wrote and directed Aurore, released on Quebec screens in 2005. In 2009, Luc Dionne brought to the screen his film L’Enfant Prodige, about the life of Canadian composer André Mathieu.
His return to television was marked by the series Blue Moon, about the growing influence of paramilitary firms and private militias around the world. In 2016, he began writing a daily program, District 31, about the workings of a neighborhood police station.
Karl Walcott
A highly talented actor, Karl Walcott is equally at home on television and in the movies, in both French and English. Whether as Jimmy in Après le déluge or Charles in Le chalet, he has already played a number of outstanding television roles. In addition to the series District 31, Demain des hommes, Toute la vie and Cerebrum, he has appeared on the big screen in Junior Majeur, The Fall of Sparta and the Hollywood mega-production X-Men: Apocalypse. In 2022, Karl also made a name for himself thanks to his participation in Big Brother Célébrités. He also starred in the latest season of the American series Riverdale, available on Netflix.
Ingrid Falaise
Actress, author, host and lecturer Ingrid Falaise has many strings to her bow. In 2023, she wrote the original idea, produced the content and brilliantly hosted the touching documentary series Adapté, and helmed seasons 1, 2 and 3 of the documentary series Femme, je te tue.
As host, she also hosted the summer morning show Les lève-tôt on Rythme FM. In 2019, she conceived the original idea, hosted and co-wrote the documentary Face aux monstres, broadcast on Radio-Canada. In 2020, she hosted and conceived the original idea for the documentary Guerrières. Since fall 2019, she has hosted the program Notre premier flip!
Her very first story, Le Monstre, was published on October 7, 2015, less than a month after its release, it was crowned a bestseller was transported to the small screen. Ingrid published her second story, Le Monstre, la suite, 2 years later, which shot to the top of the charts.
She plays the role of Myriam Ferron in season 2 of the popular TVA series Indéfendable.
Hugo Giroux
Hugo Giroux has been working in television, theater, advertising and corporate voice work for almost 25 years. From District 31 to the series O’ in the recent past, he is also part of the cast of À coeur battant on Radio-Canada, Le Bonheur and Indéfendable on TVA.
He is also part of the cast of the TV series Lance et compte, presented on TVA. His film credits include the role of Gosselin in Horloge biologique. He was also in the cast of L’Âge des ténèbres, La Peur de l’eau and Ésimésac.
On the stage, Hugo is starring in Francis Weber’s play Placard, which will tour across Quebec in 2024.
Geneviève Néron
Whether as an actress, host, singer, narrator or therapeutic clown, Geneviève is a curious and passionate artist.
Geneviève first came to public attention with her role as Manu on Vrak.TV’s Réal.IT. She has appeared on television (Au Secours de Béatrice, Belle Baie, Virginie, Jean Duceppe, Les Invincibles), as well as in several feature films and shorts (La moitié Gauche du Frigo, Les Boys 3, Soowitch, Motel Pluton). Theater (Les Contes Urbains twice, Encore une fois sur le Fleuve, La Société des Loisirs).
It was in Sylvain Cossette’s musical Les 7 that she made her name as a singer, playing the lead role of Princess Jolie Julie. She went on to become a singer-songwriter and artistic director for the music group Madame Moustache.
She is particularly fond of animation and has a wealth of experience. For three consecutive years, she hosted the program Trait d’humour on Unis Tv and, since 2019, has co-hosted the program Avec ou sans cash on Évasion.
Hubert Proulx
A very active artist on the Quebec cultural scene, he works in both institutional and avant-garde theaters. In the classical repertoire, he has played Chekov, Shakespeare, Gorky, Pinter and Dumas.
At the same time, he has a successful career in television and film. His TV and film credits include District 31, Au secours de Béatrice, Mensonges, L’échappée, Unité 9, Portrait-robot, Les petits rois, La maison des folles, Lou et Sophie, Classé secret and Mégantic. He also played the vivacious Pouliot in the Léo series.
On the silver screen, he has appeared in both popular films (Chasse-Galerie, Borderline, De Père en flic) and auteur films (Déserts, Maudite Poutine, Les lignes ennemies). We’ve seen him in Répertoire des villes disparues, Vivre à 100 milles à l’heure and, more recently, Babysitter. He will be in Pier-Philippe Chevigny’s next film, Rive-sud.
Hubert is also pursuing a musical project as a singer-songwriter: a blend of folk, blues, grunge and punk elements.
Guillaume Lambert
Since the start of his career, he has appeared on a number of TV shows, including Nouvelle adresse, Les beaux malaises, Ruptures, Les mecs, La confrérie and l’Échappée. He was also a cast member of the sketch comedy Like-moi! Since 2019, he has hosted the travel show Avec ou sans cash, and also produces the podcast C’est quoi les chances.
Also a screenwriter and author, he was a writer on Les parents and Bébéatrice. His short film Toutes des connes, in which he plays the lead role. In fall 2015, he published his first novel, Satyriasis (mes années romantiques), and his second, Eschatologie (l’effondrement), is due out in 2022. From 2016 to 2019, he wrote all three seasons of the l’Âge adulte series.
He directed his first feature film, Les scènes fortuites, in which he played the lead role as well as writing the screenplay. Niagara, his second feature, was released in fall 2022.
Recently, he co-wrote with Florence Longpré the TV series Audrey est revenue, the first Canadian TV series in official competition at Canneseries in 2022, and winner of the Grand Prix Dior.
Laurent Paquin
An emblematic figure in Quebec comedy for over 25 years, Laurent is not only recognized as the record-holder for JPR Gala hosting with 18 years, but also leaves his mark with his five one-man shows. He has also made a name for himself in theater, notably in Demain matin, Montréal m’attend, Le dîner de cons, in the play he co-wrote with Simon Boudreault On va tous mourir, and in François Avard’s latest series Le Bonheur. This year, he will host his third ComédiHa!
In the summer of 2022, he will be part of the cast of Dîner de Cons, alongside Normand d’Amour, René Simard and Bernard Fortin.
In addition to all these talents, Laurent is also making a name for himself in the world of music. In 2021, he launched his first album of “serious” songs, Et faire comme si.
Anthony Therrien
Anthony is an emerging versatile actor on the Quebec film scene. Having taken part in several projects during his teenage years (Destinées, Nouvelle adresse, Subito texto), he already had plenty of experience when, at the age of 15, he landed the lead role in Mathieu Denis’ film Corbo. In the years that followed, he took part in several other feature films, including Yan England’s 1:54, Pascal Plante’s Les faux tatouages and Sophie Lorain’s Charlotte a du fun.
On the small screen, he also appeared in the TVA series Alerte Amber and L’académie. Since 2020, he has headlined the Radio-Canada series Six degrés. He also won the hearts of Quebecers with his touching portrayal of the character of Félix in the three seasons of Les bracelets rouges. In a completely different register, audiences can follow him on Club Illico in the thriller Lac noir.
Anne-Marie Withenshaw
Anne-Marie has been a fixture on Canadian radio and television since 1998. On radio, she hosted the daily show on WKND for three years. On television, she has hosted ICI ARTV’s C’est juste de la TV for 15 seasons.
After a meteoric rise as a VJ at MusiquePlus early in her career, Anne-Marie traveled the world with Flash, her famous yellow microphone, to cover international film festivals and galas.
Anne-Marie visited nearly 300 restaurants during six seasons of Guide Restos Voir, hosted Pressure Cooker and co-hosted TVA’s culinary competitions À Couteaux tirés and Atelier Culinaire alongside chef Chuck Hughes.
Behind the camera, as founder of Killer Queen Productions, she co-produces the cooking show Chuck’s Day Off, broadcast in nearly 50 countries worldwide.
Debbie Lynch-White
In 2012, Debbie Lynch-White’s career was propelled, when she landed the role of Nancy Prévost in Radio-Canada’s hugely popular soap opera Unité 9. She also made a name for herself on the stage in several plays, including J’accuse with Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui, directed by Sylvain Bélanger, and Roméo et Juliette at Théâtre du Nouveau Monde. At a pivotal moment in her career, Debbie was chosen to play Mary Travers, the title role in the film La Bolduc, opening in early 2018. She is also responsible for the film’s soundtrack. More recently, she has appeared in the casts of Une autre histoire on ICI Radio-Canada and Le jeu on TVA. In 2021, she will host and develop the documentary series L’Histoire de mon coming-out.
In 2019, Debbie goes on tour with her show of cover songs, Elle était une fois. She appropriates great songs by female authors and shares her passions, sorrows, laughs and concerns.
Caroline Dhavernas
Caroline Dhavernas is an actress whose prolific career began at the age of 12 in the daily soap opera Marilyn. She then went on to star in several successful series, including Zap, Jasmine, Urgence, Lobby, Le Pollock, Réseaux and Les beaux malaises. However, it was in Tag that she really captivated Quebec audiences with her unforgettable role as Stéphanie, demonstrating her exceptional talent.
Dhavernas has also had a notable presence on the big screen, in Quebec as well as the U.S. and Europe, with films such as Isle of Sand, The Baroness and the Pig, Out Cold, Nez rouge, De père en flic, The Tulse Luper Suitcases, Hollywoodland, Breach, La belle bête, Passchendaele, The Switch, Mars et Avril and many others.
She has also enjoyed success on American television, notably in series such as Hannibal, where she played the character of Dr. Alana Bloom, and in Wonderfalls, Off The Map, as well as appearances on series such as Law & Order and The Pacific. In 2017, she played the lead role in the series Mary Kills People.
More recently, Caroline returned to Quebec screens with roles in Chasse-galerie , Blue Moon and De père en flic II. In 2020, she appeared in Les beaux malaises 2.0 and has been seen in series such as Aller simple and Les cavaliers. Her versatile career and talent have earned her recognition both in Canada and internationally.
Michèle Deslauriers
For over 60 years, Michèle Deslauriers has enjoyed a successful career on stage and screen. On television, her career has been marked by comedy shows such as Samedi de rire, Rira Bien, Pop Citrouille and Bye Bye. We’ve also seen her in soap operas such as Marilyn, la Promesse and Le cœur à ses raisons, Et Dieu créa LaFlaque. In the series Les beaux malaises, she played the role of Martin Matte’s mother.
On the stage, her magnificent voice led her to take part in various musicals, including Grease, Demain matin Montréal m’attend, 5 Woman Show, La cage aux folles and My Fair Lady. Over the years, she has taken on multiple roles in various theatrical productions, including Arlequin serviteur de deux maîtres, Les fourberies de Scapin, L’avare, Rhinocéros and Minuit Chrétien.
Over the course of her career, she has also directed several theatrical productions, including Les Palmes de Monsieur Schutz, Bousille et les Justes, Revue et corrigée 2011, Les Dix Petits Nègres, Des souris et des Hommes, L’Auberge des morts subites and Edgar et ses fantômes 2. His most recent production was Cyrano de Bergerac.
For the past 15 years, she has been heard weekly on Radio-Canada’s popular À la semaine prochaine program, and has been the voice of the Montreal Metro for nearly 20 years.
Sandrine Bisson
Since her graduation from the National Theatre School in 1999, Sandrine has been busy playing roles in film, television and theater. Her film credits include 1991, for which she won the Iris for Best Supporting Actress, and 1981, for which she won the Jutra for Best Supporting Actress in 2010. She has also appeared in Le Neg’, Coteau rouge, La garde and Les 100 ans du Canadien, and more recently in the film Confession. In addition, she has made some thirty short films, many of which have won awards at film festivals. Sandrine has also taken part in several small-screen productions, including Le temps des framboises, Le bonheur, Défense d’entrer, Léo, Fragile, Épidémie, L’imposteur, Le berceau des anges, Yamaska, Patrice Lemieux 24/7, Mensonges, Prozac, Les beaux malaises and Le Négociateur.
She takes great pleasure in participating in numerous web series, all as touching as they are humorous. A frequent presence in the theater, she has appeared in landmark productions by Duceppe and Denise Pelletier, and will be touring Quebec in 2019 with Le Terrier, Bonjour, la, bonjour and Fais toi une belle vie. She has proudly performed at La Licorne, notably in Cuisiner avec Elvis and Les contes urbains. She has also appeared at the Théâtre du Rideau vert in: Avec Norm and Bonbons assortis.
Paul Doucet
For over 20 years, Paul Doucet has been active in the Quebec arts scene as an actor, in theater, television and film. Having appeared in countless productions, he has made a name for himself with such notable roles as Jean Duceppe, Georges Ste-Marie, the chaplain in Unité 9 and Arthur Buies in Les pays d’en haut. His film credits include The Fall of the American Empire (2018), La Bolduc (2017), The 3 Little Pigs (2016) and Funkytown (2010).
Since 2010, Paul has been involved as a spokesperson for La Fondation Charles Bruneau.
Isabelle Brouillette
Isabelle Brouillette graduated from UQAM’s École supérieure de théâtre in 1992, and began her stage career with Si la tendance se maintient, written and directed by François Archambault, in the wake of the 1995 referendum. She went on to appear in several productions at Théâtre Momentum and La Licorne.
Isabelle Brouillette’s television credits include États humains (which she also co-wrote), Destinées, M’entends-tu?, Nuit blanche, Sortez-moi de moi, Pour toujours plus un jour, and Stat. Her film credits include Julie Hivon’s Chocolat, crème glacée et autres consolations. She was also a regular player in the LNI between 1999 and 2009.
Her columns can be heard on ICI Première’s Pénélope program, in the cheerful duo she forms with Édith Cochrane. Together, they created Derrière mon fauteuil and Sous mon lit, two children’s books published by La Bagnole, for which Isabelle Brouillette did the illustrations.
Vincent Bilodeau
A 1972 graduate of the École de Théâtre de Ste-Thérèse, Vincent Bilodeau has performed on stage and screen. His theater credits include some 90 productions, including Les Enfants du Silence, 12 Hommes en Colère, La Fin de la Civilisation, Antigone, Edgar et ses Fantômes, Les Mensonges de Papa and Salut Galarneau, to name but a few.
On television, he has appeared in over 50 productions: La Petite Patrie, Dominique, Manon, Au Nom du Père et du Fils, Alphonse Desjardins, Les Bougon, Bob Gratton, L’Auberge du Chien Noir, and many others. Vincent is one of the main characters in François Morency’s series Discussions avec mes Parents. And finally, on the silver screen, he has appeared in a number of films, including: Les Bougon, 20h17 Rue Darling and Un Crabe dans la Tête.
Claire Jacques
In a career spanning 37 years, Claire Jacques, who began her career in the Ligue nationale d’improvisation (LNI), has worked with such greats as Gilles Latulippe, Denise Filiatrault and Serge Postigo. Claire Jacques won her very first Gémeaux for her performance in the second season of La maison des folles, a web series by Mara Joly.
She has also appeared on Unité 9, Discussions avec mes parents, Indéfendable, District 31Lâcher-prise, Cheval-Serpent, Alertes, Le Bonheur, 30 Vies, Mensonges, Trauma, Toute la vérité and Mémoires Vives.
On the big screen, she can be seen in The Expatriate and Bullet in the Face.
