Zachary, 3, in remission from lymphoblastic leukemia.

A few days before his first birthday, Zachary was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. His family had just moved here from the U.S., so the young boy was treated in his new adopted city, at the Charles-Bruneau Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval.

As you’ll soon see, Zachary loves everything to do with Christmas, summer and winter alike. His favorite animal? The reindeer. His favorite character? Santa Claus. His favorite books? Books set during the holiday season, of course! His overflowing imagination makes him a passionate and endearing boy.

Zachary is lucky enough to live within walking distance of his grandparents, whom he sees regularly. After taking part in the Cup for the first time in 2023, his grandfather and several members of Zachary’s family entourage will be back for the Quebec Cup this year. Keep an eye out for Team Zaquiqui, created in honor of our hero!

At the age of 4, Miro is unstoppable: he loves sliding on the snow in winter, playing field hockey, coloring and tinkering. He loves the Ninja Turtles and, like them, he loves pizza. At home, Miro likes to play with his sister Géraldine and his dog Nova, a large Bernese Mountain dog.

In December 2022, Aidan’s family learned of the 3-year-old’s diagnosis: acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Still undergoing treatment at the Unité d’hémato-oncologie pédiatrique Charles-Bruneau at CHU de Québec-Université Laval, Aidan is doing well. He impresses everyone, including his parents: “We’re amazed at how resilient and courageous he is going through this ordeal, despite his young age. A real superhero!”

Depending on the season, Aidan enjoys a variety of sports. He loves cycling, soccer and skiing. As for music, he LOVES the group Bleu Jeans Bleu. You only have to see her dancing to the music to understand just how much he loves her!

Aidan is a caring boy, always thinking of others. He loves making gifts, cards and drawings for the people he loves. The Charles-Bruneau Foundation is delighted to welcome him as a young Hero of the Coupe à Québec!
