Vol d’un survivant à l’autre raises $35,000 for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation

On September 16, as part of the 11th edition of Vol d’un survivant à l’autre, 33 children in remission or undergoing treatment for cancer and their families had the chance to take a seaplane flight over the magnificent scenery of Quebec City. At the end of the children’s day, with its inflatable games, face painting, food and entertainment, instigator Hugo Desrochers, himself cured of leukemia, announced that $35,000 had been raised for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation.

Since the first edition of Vol d’un survivant à l’autre in 2011, 230 families have had the chance to take to the skies and experience a dream day. Since 2018, all funds raised during the event have been donated to the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, for a total of over $121,500 to date. These sums enable the Foundation to fund important pediatric hemato-oncology research projects for children across Quebec.

“My involvement with young sick children goes beyond my passion for aviation. In addition to realizing the second chance that life has given me, it’s a way for me to give back to the next generation. I still believe that hope for a cure lies in research, and I’m proud to contribute.

– Hugo Desrochers, instigator of the Flight of a Survivor event

“What a privilege for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation to be the beneficiary of such an event. A huge thank you to its instigator, Hugo Desrochers, who has been committed to a cancer-free childhood for many years. I would also like to salute the loyal volunteers, partners and donors who have supported Hugo since the very beginning of the adventure. Everyone’s collaboration and generosity are at the heart of this ongoing success.

– Pierre Bruneau, spokesperson for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation
